Not when it is the right size, allows panting and drinking, and is introduced properly. A well-fitted muzzle keeps a frightened or painful dog safe and often means they can stay out and about rather than being shut away.
How do I introduce it?
Slowly. Treats through the muzzle first, then a few seconds on, building up over days. Never put it on for the first time at the vet.
Will it stop barking?
No, and it should not be used for that. It is for bite safety and scavenging, not noise.
